As our lovely vacation came to a close we had a lovely welcome into 2008 when we returned home! We got home to a frozen house...literally! The toilet water was completely frozen solid, everything in the refridgerator was frozen, their was even snow in the kitchen trash? We tried the water, and nothing....until.....the waterfall erupted into the garage. It was like something from the Money Pit. 7 waterfalls coming out of teh wall in the garage. We ended up with 6 busted pipes and a bunch of holes in our bathroom and garage. Now our basement, bathroom, and garage are plastic wrapped off with de-humidifiers and heater driers blowing. Happy New Year!! I am so grateful for a brilliant hubby who specializes in all jobs:). So he was our plumber and fixed all the popped pipes.

Oh my gosh!!! I don't believe it. How low did you set your thermostat? That is crazy. I am so sorry that happened to you my friend. If you need any extra plumbing help, my brother in law is a plumber.
Welcome Home! AH that sucks. at least you have your very own handy man. and you can always pay him with a nice warm dinner...;o) The same thing happened to my sister in law. and they went to Cali for Christmas too! Im staying away from that place. ;o)
